Matthew commenced working at John Crawford Marine in 1999 in sales and liked it so much, he bought the company five years later making him JCM’s third owner since 1964. His passion for boating and marine industry related issues is evident. He has served as President for Qld’s Boating Industry Association and served as a councillor on the National BIA body. Matthew is also a regular contributor to boating magazines, industry spokesman and often referred to as an advocate for Government, Media and safe boating.
He is also acknowledged as the creator of Australia’s most comprehensive online Trailer Sailor library of digitally archived history relating to over 120 Trailer Sailors sold in Australia found online at JCM’s webpage.
Matthew and his dedicated team are always willing to assist you with buying or selling your late model trailer boat and is proud to continue the John Crawford Marine tradition as Queensland’s Used Boat Specialists.

Eric’s wealth of practicable knowledge in marine mechanicals is legendary in our Industry. Eric started working at John Crawford Marine in the late 1980s and he has become the ultimate problem solver.
His skillset and attention to detail help to ensure that our boats are sold to the highest standards that John Crawford Marine is known for ensuring our packages are ready for the next family to enjoy. He also willingly shares his knowledge when completing our handovers with our buyers upon collection Monday to Friday’s.
When not working in the workshop or completing handovers, Eric can be found socialising with family and enjoying Grandpa duties and for thrills still finds time to ride his motorbike up and over the hills west of Brisbane.

Layne is our Master of “First Impressions” being responsible for the presentation and cleanliness of the boats on the boatyard. Preparing the boats for sale with detailing and adding the touches that JCM’s quality boats are known for. Layne also looks after our lawns and gardens and takes pride in his work. Weekends Layne heads his volunteer group call “Litter Legends” where he and his group collect litter and dispose of it properly. He is extremely passionate about cleaning our world and embraces the JCM philosophy of recycling, water reuse and energy management.

Karen is our Bookkeeper and our in-house Finance Manager where she helps many of our customers obtain finance for their boat through AMMF Finance, a subsidiary of Yamaha Finance. Karen is very personable and with a career from the banking world has a very strong grasp of finances, loans, book work all combined with an outgoing personality. Her weekends are often taxiing her older teenage boys to and from basketball and Volleyball competitions, camping or simply relaxing with a good book and a glass of wine.

Jim retired from a successful corporate life and missed the camaraderie of working with people - JCM combines Jim's two passions, working with wonderful people and customers and being with boats. An avid angler with a life time of fishing experience inshore and offshore, Jim welcomes the chance to share his knowledge and guide customers into the right boat for their boating needs. Jim works casually and loves our sales philosophy "No pressure sales tactics and good old fashioned service with a smile" approach!
