Calling all car toppers, caravanners, campers and creek fishers we have just landed this little Quintrex 385 Explorer package that has been used to explore the waterways around Australia.
As the photos depict she shows the dust and wear of such an adventure, but under the cosmetic aesthetics, she’s solid, reliable and ready to be part of the next couples/families adventures.
These rigs are darn expensive new and at the end of the trip still look like this, so why not save a motza knowing you have JCM machinal checks under your belt on the motor and trailer?
These V Nose tinnies offer great stability compared to the more traditional dinghy styles boat and the Explorer from Quintrex and the Nomad from Seajay would undoubtedly be the two most popular and robust car topper tinnies on the market.
Simplicity is the key, and this is what the Explorer offers, two bench seats, some padding atop to save the bum burn and the original owner has added some tie down points to assist with safe loading and securing on the roof racks.
She is powered by the ever popular and reliable Yamaha 15FMH 15 Hp 2 stoke outboard. These semi portable outboards are 2 stroke in design to save weight over the heavier 4 stroke models and offer the owner a simple motor to start, service and carry. The motor is a 2003 model and has been thoroughly mechanically inspected by our mechanics and is further backed with a limited BIA engine warranty for additional buyers confidence.
The trailer is known as a “fold up” trailer, with a little time, the frame has quick release pins that allow the trailer to be broken down into manageable parts for storage when travelling. Many caravanners place the trailer components on their van’s draw bar and again online type this into Google for many examples of owner’s ingenuity for storing etc. Please note that the tyres are rated to a maximum speed of 60K/hr and if collecting from JCM we recommend you make plans for transport home via a box trailer, large roof racks or flat bed ute etc..
The hull and trailer are unregistered and the price does not include registration costs. However, the low tow away price of $3,995 includes guaranteed title, workshop demonstration of how to operate the motor and our pre-sale mechanical inspections. So why spend some $6,000 on replacing such a rig, grab this before it runs out the door when the summer caravanning and holiday season starts…
