Wow, here’s one on the top 5 trailer boats to come to JCM so far this year! This beautifully maintained and visually striking trailerable family cruiser just has to be seen to be appreciated, let alone read the constant upgrades that have been fitted in excess of $50,000 over the past 18 months! But the allure of a much bigger moored vessel can’t be overcome, so we proudly bring to market this exceptionally priced vessel that has a brand new latest technology Volvo 300Hp and leg fitted in January 2017!
Horseshoe Bay, Hill Inlet, Whitehaven Beach, Hinchinbrook, to the Tweed all these magnificent waterways to explore and how could you do it better than with this maxi-trailerboat?
As the photos depict this Searay 240 Sundancer is simply stunning in every sense of the nautical application of adjectives one can use. Accommodation provided to comfortable sleep 4 adults, 240v shore power for those overnight marina stays to keep the microwave oven and batteries topped up to the luxurious fit out and appointments that Searay are so well known for. I could write so much more, but why re-invent the spiels that already so well written and documented also with video on YouTube and many of the more reputable boating webpages.
As described briefly prior, the motor and leg was fitted new in January 2017 at a cost of $35,000 plus, replacing the original Mercruiser/leg. Volvo was chosen because of the all new lightweight, alloy component V8 300Hp CE making it a no brainer when compared to the older tech Mercruiser. The Volvo has key fob security, touch start and stop engine controls along with the owner upgrading the LCD engine management screen fitted to the dash from a 5 inch to a larger 7-inch display module. The engine delivers exceptional hole shot via the stainless-steel duo prop leg and is fuelled by an approx. underfloor tank with a capacity of approx. 250L.
The engine is also fresh water cooled internally and this is then cooled via a heat exchanger. Warranty remains on the Volvo engine providing further peace of mind for the next fortunate owner. Access is made simple via the rear lounge with sound deadening and fire protection system fitted from Fireboy.
Walk through the stern transom door and you enter a well laid out cockpit with comfortable seating provided and quality sun covers overhead. Storage abounds throughout this area and we love the dual helm seat. The dash is well laid out with everything the skipper requires at arm’s reach. Making one’s way down the companionway into the cabin, a galley has all the mod cons one would want for a weekend getaway including a fridge, pressurised water, near new stereo system, sink and cupboards for the cutlery and crockery.
We all want some privacy when using the loo, this vessel has an enclosed head and a near new Vacu Loo system fitted along with showering facilities in this area. The large V berth makes for seating or drop the centre squab in place and a double berth is made up. Mid ship another double bed provides bedding or a great cubby for the children!
Accessories and features are numerous, but the main features are as follows:
If you wish to tow the 240 Sundancer, she sits atop a quality multi roller trailer rated to 3500Kg. Please note she is 3450kg off the tow ball empty of water and 50l of fuel aboard. The trailer is fitted with a near new Hydrastar electric hydraulic braking system and the trailer had the skids removed and a plethora of rollers fitted to make launching and retrieving a much simpler task. The presents in excellent condition and will be road worthied at the time of sale. Another consideration is that the beam of the hull is 2.59m, meaning in some states you will need to check your regulators guidelines to towing over width vessels. The onus is on the purchaser to familiarise themselves with the states towing regulations and fit what additional gear may be required to meet the obligations.
This is one sensational buy when compared to what is on the market with original motors, old trailers and for those considering a Whittley, Bayliner or Four Winns equivalent, make a bee line to JCM as this one is the pick of them all, now priced at under $75,000!
