JCM have just landed this fantastic aluminium Mtune SF425 Catcher side console built by Stessco Boats. As the photos depict, a few stone chips are on the bow but this is purely an aesthetic blemish, this aside, what a fantastic rig to explore the protected estuaries and get to do a spot of fishing on the bay and chase the crabs up the creeks.
The boat has most of the features conducive with estuary boating that a keen crabber or fisherman could want. Overhead a large bimini top provides ample shade form the midday sun and this easily and neatly folds down out of the way when being towed or stored. It also has a storage sock to keep it neat when folded.
Powered by a Yamaha 40Hp 2010, 2 stroke model outboard that perfectly marries to the hull and will effortlessly push two or 3 adults. These outboards are known for the reliability and simple and affordable to service annually. We love how it features both electric and manual starting along with press button power trim and tilt at the helm for trimming and convenience.
The Yamaha has been mechanically inspected and is in near faultless condition and we further back the motor with a BIA warranty for buyers purchasing confidence – why risk buying privately?
If you enjoy flicking lures from the bow or setting up the crab pots, you will love the bow casting platform, its large, solidly constructed and under this, loads of storage for the ground tackle/safety gear etc assisting in keeping the decks clear. Side pockets are also installed mid ship on both port and starboard sides for additional storage.
The transom has the 24l fuel tank and battery and if further range is needed, this package also includes a spare 20L jerry can and under the rear floor the electric bilge pump is installed. Stessco have done a good job in positioning the seating and the side console, as even a “tallie” like me can comfortably fit behind the steering wheel. The console has a wind deflector screen fitted and atop the dash is the Humminbird 788Ci colour sounder/GPS combo unit. A 4 gang switch panel to turn on the navigation and anchor light and master switch for the sounder unit.
Trailering is easy with the “Inhouse” built Stessco X4.2LS13 single axle that marries to the hull like a glove making launching and retrieving at the ramp a simple chore. Trailering is also simple and will suit most small to medium tow vehicle s with a low ATM of 600Kg. Like all trailers sold at JCM they are pre-tested and then sold to you for your peace of mind that it has been repaired if or where needed to ensure your on-road towing safety.
This is a wonderful package, competitively priced to race out the door and you can then own this rig with the confidence of the “JCM backing” and inclusive services with reassurance to get out there and enjoy some fishing, exploring our beautiful waterways.
