The Arvor 20 Series II powered by the Nanni 5.250TdI turbo diesel was one of the most successful models made with features such as genuine self-draining decks, lockable wheelhouse, stylish looks, walk through transom and the reliability of diesel that makes them a very attractive boating proposition and attracts owners and fisherman with many varying uses.
One thing that is always a common denominator, nearly all Arvor owners (and aspiring) have owned large boats and quite simply understand the benefits of a shaft drive, freshwater cooled diesel engine. Although not the fastest boat out there on the water, they are one of the most reliable designs.
This Series II was supplied and delivered by our business in 2005 and has been in the one family ever since. The boat has never been antifouled nor moored on a pontoon. Although the Arvor’s are well suited for mooring with the vinyl ester hulls and self-draining for when it rains.
As the pictures indicate the boat has most of the options that were available at the time of order. We haven't listed the original electronics as they are old and a new owner will want to upgrade with today's modern package and hence we have priced the boat at under $55K allowing for this cost of the next owner.
The engine has just been serviced prior to being listed. The Nanni diesel is based on a 5 cylinder Kubota block, marinized by Nanni and turbo charged. The engine runs a heat exchanger so only freshwater is running through the engine block. The 2.5L engine spins up to 2800 rpm giving her a wide open throttle speed of circa 17 knots, however this gentleman's cruiser is most comfortable at around 2200rpm running her over the briny at around 12 to 14knots all day and every day consuming approx 8l to 10l of diesel per hour.
The engine is linked to a Twin Disc hydraulic gear box with a 2:1 reduction, spinning the shaft through a Volvo dripless gland linked to a 4 blade over square bronze propeller. This boat is fitted dual tanks offering approx. combined 130l of diesel capacity offering genuine range for the offshore boatie. Dual batteries are also installed for power on the water.
The cockpit has been fitted with removable ribbed carpet that is also easily removed if you want to wash the decks down with the salt water hose fitted. The transom has a built in plumbed live bait well and under the starboard side floor is another flooding kill tank. 2 aft quarter storage holds are molded into the hull and a rear bench seat can be positioned neatly between the two for more seating if required.
Accessing the boats bow is a simple affair as the wheelhouse can be traversed from either side to check on the ground tackle stored in the bow locker. Safe passageway with the oversized stainless steel bow rails and well positioned grab rails atop of the hard top. Anchoring is easy as an electric anchor winch has been installed after market.
The cabin is cozy for two, however offers genuine reprieve if the weather turns sour. Visibility is exceptional with the safety glass windscreen, wiper and freshwater bottle aiding if the salt is drying on the screen. Overhead a large cabin hatch allows ventilation on those still days and a cabin fan is also fitted.
That this boat and the accessories are sold excluding warranty in an “as is condition”, buyers should seek independent advice and organise mechanical inspections at their cost to ensure the advertised package meets their expectations and condition as no warranty is implied nor offered.
The trailer is sold unregistered due rust in the frame but makes for an added bonus for those that may wish to keep the rig out of the water on the hardstand at a Yacht Club or local Marina storage and use the valet services of drop in and haul out on your behalf. The trailer has an extended draw bar fitted and comes with a spare wheel. For those that are handy, maybe a new frame from Easy Tow (Model WM19) could be ordered and componentry removed off this trailer and added to the new frame over the course of a few beers and weekends?
Looking at the Arvor 20’s online, this one owner package presents good buying for the angler looking for a simple yet versatile package to cruise the local waterways.
