The quality used trailer boats are rolling into JCM and being prepped for the next owners to enjoy over Easter and into the winter fishing season and here is yet another stunner with this 2018 purchased Stessco 440 Renegade aluminium side console sports fishing rig.

First Impressions

Get out there in comfort and with features and accessories to do some serious sports fishing whether it be flicking lures from the bow casting platform or dropping live baits onto the reefs, either way this Renegade has you covered. As the photos depict, options fitted everywhere over and above the standard model and outlined in detail further below.

The Motor

Powered by a 60Hp four stroke Mercury EFI fourstroke that has been computer tested and recorded only 71 hours since new in August 2018. The outboard has recently had its annual service completed by our local Mercury dealer at the end of January 2020 to maintain balance of warranty until August 2021 – why buy new? 

For that looking for that additional power as much as a 40Hp is perfect for two aboard this with the 60Hp has that little extra sting if 3 aboard and you have the need for speed! Proudly fitted to the bow is a Motorguide XI5 bow mount electric motor that is powered by dual batteries providing hours of quiet trolling under electric power. With approx 60L of fuel capacity under the floor, range is assured to get you across the bay to your favourite fishing spot.

On the Water

The rig includes a compliment of safety gear as outlined in detail below along with an EPIRB and flares. For on water communications a GME DX750 VHF radio is installed for boat to boat or back to base updates. The helm is comfortable with engine instrumentation neatly fitted, a 7” colour screen Lowrance HDS7 combo GPS/Sounder unit and this is linked to the Side Scan Transducer – check out the YouTube videos on this model, an awesome bit of electronics and fish finding once you know learn how to use!  For those that like tunes whilst afloat, a GME stereo system is fitted.

Overhead a large 4 bow bimini top provides ample shade on those hot days from the midday sun and this easily and neatly folds down when not in use as pictured. A quality boat travelling cover has been fabricated at a cost of close to $1,500 and fits perfectly. As the boat has come in from way out west a quality cove was needed to keep the dust out of it (yes only used in saltwater a hand full of times).

On the Trailer

Trailering is made easy via the Dunbier 4.3B single axle trailer that marries to the hull like a glove. Dressed with black plastic guards and alloy rims that neatly finish this striking package. For added on road towing safety the trailer has mechanical brakes fitted and a spare wheel is included. Like all trailers sold through JCM they are serviced included in the tow away price for your towing confidence.
