Following the success of the 2009 Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show and National 4x4 Show and Outdoors Expo, fishing and camping enthusiasts can mark 19 – 21 March 2010 on the calendar with the iconic events set to take over Brisbane’s RNA Showgrounds once again.

Brisbane residents have been flocking to the Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show and National 4x4 Show and Outdoors Expo since 2005 when the two successful shows converged together to make one big super expo for individuals with a passion for all things outdoors.

Already event organisers are promising this year’s show will be the biggest yet with the return of the traditional favourite stands along with some brand new features.

“Each year the show continues to grow and 2010 will be no different.  We continue to lock in more and more exhibitors who will display all the latest products the Queensland recreational marine industry has to offer,” said Don Jones from Marine Queensland.

Keen anglers will be well catered for with boats, fishing rods, tackle and accessories occupying numerous pavilions at Queensland’s most famous Showground.

“The one thing about Brisbane residents is that they all love getting out onto the bay to enjoy some quality time fishing and this show really does cater for the Queensland lifestyle,” said Jones.

“Not only will the Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show feature the latest products but there is also a comprehensive education program which provides individuals with tips to help them land the next big catch."

John Crawford Marine's large display stand was again popular at the 2009 Brisbane International Boat Show in late August 2009.

It was a great success for John Crawford Marine and the stand once again proved very popular with customers enquiring about recent sales, consignment and buying a used boat.

Our staff spent many an hour with new and past customers discussing their boating needs and what they are looking for when selling or buying a boat. However interestingly many responses were the same – service and understanding - not just price. This should be taken as a reminder to the new boat market that many consumers still want quality although money may be tight and they want experienced sales staff to understand there needs.

John Crawford Marine also provided free valuations for people who brought in some photos of their pride and joy for possible trade in values and retail value. This service was provided as we had received feedback that many dealers didn’t have the resources nor experience in the used boat market to confidently value trade ins.

Since the show John Crawford Marine has purchased many boats from dealers that don’t want to hold up cash flow or lack the room for second hand boats. Also boats were purchased and consigned from sellers looking to avoid the hassles and pit falls of private selling.

Remember if you are thinking about selling a quality used trailer boat not to hesitate in contacting our professional and experienced sales staff.

From all the staff at John Crawford Marine, we hope to see you again down at our display yard,1029 Manly Road, Tingalpa.

John Haines Snr, the founder of the iconic Haines Hunter and Signature boat brands, passed away on Saturday. It is understood Haines Snr had been battling cancer. On behalf of the staff at John Crawford Marine we pass on our deepest condolenses to the Haines family.

A true icon of the Marine Industry, John Haines has certainly left his impression on many, including staff and customers that enjoyed using their Haines Boats and were loyal to the brand. John Crawford Marine has been selling used Haines Boats since 1964 and looking though the decades of photos it is evident of a man whos passion and skill in building fine boats can be seen.

The Haines family has respectfully requested that no flowers be sent. Donations can be made to the palliative care section of the Wesley Hospital (details below) to assist them with their incredible selfless work.

Buried treasure trove of information uncovered for trailer sailers

JOHN Crawford Marine at 1029 Manly Road, Tingalpa, Brisbane, has created a valuable trailer sailer reference library for the boating public, based on information gathered by the dealership and customers over the past 45 years.

Matthew Hodson, owner and managing director of John Crawford Marine, has released digitally reworked marketing brochures, boat tests, reviews and general information gathered since John Crawford Marine started a boatyard on the Esplanade at Wynnum in 1964.

Matthew said he recently found himself in a unique position cataloguing the Queensland history of trailer yachts - better known as trailer sailers - which were once an integral part of the marine industry.

“After being involved in the sale of new and used trailer sailers for the past four decades, a treasure trove of information had been buried in our storeroom.

“I realised the original documentation which we had accumulated was a valuable research resource that needed to be preserved and shared,” said Matthew.

John Crawford Marine will again be displaying Queensland’s largest range of quality used boats at the Brisbane International Boat Show. In the current economic climate buying late model, near new has never made so much sense, so come and see our selection of quality used models from 2.0m fiberglass car toppers to 7.0m fishing boats. (Please note that actual boats aren’t permitted at the show)

This year it has been decided that ARVOR will not have a boat at the show. Due to the current economic climate and high costs associated with a static display it is not feasible.

However at the show if you are:
