Why do we have closed seasons? Closed seasons (regulated waters) prevent people from fishing at certain times of the year to protect species at vulnerable times in their life cycle, such as during spawning seasons. This includes Australian Bass, Barramundi, Coral Reef Fin Fish, Snapper, Spanner Crabs and Spiny Fin Rock Lobsters For further information please visit www.dpi.qld.gov.au/28_3055.htm
