Transport and Main Roads is undertaking a state-wide Recreational Boating Facilities Demand Forecasting Study during 2010.  The study will involve extensive consultation, data collection, demographic trend analysis, needs analysis, and demand forecasting for the future. In assessing future demand, consideration will be given to facility location, environmental constraints and opportunities, seasonal and holiday demand fluctuations, and the nature of recreational boating in the area.

This is an amazing opportunity to voice your issues and requests for a better ramp facilities in your area.

The outcomes of the study will provide a solid basis to guide investment of funding in boating infrastructure from 2012-13 onwards.

Read a fact sheet (PDF, 193.6 KB) about the recreational boating facilities demand forecasting study.

John Crawford Marine regularly uses the local ramps in the Wynnum and Brisbane River area and we will be submitting our issues with ramps and carparks. Some our concerns are carpark lighting for security, lack of fish cleaning tables and bins, pontoons needed that run the centre of the ramp for both lanes to use in windy conditions or strong currents, adequate advertising signage for marine safety alerts etc. Are your concerns similar? Then ensure you voice these in the above survey.
