Barry Jenkins Steps Down as Marine Queensland President and Receives Life Membership PDF Print E-mail

Peak State recreational marine industry body, Marine Queensland’s President, Barry Jenkins has stepped down at the association’s 2010 Annual General Meeting held on the 19th of March. 

He has served for a record 7 year term as President of the Association, being elected in 2003.  Prior to being elected as President, Barry served as Vice President and a Committee Member on the Board, and was first elected in 2000.

Barry has a very distinguished career within the Marine Industry.  His appointments include:

• Immediate Past President of Australian Marine Industries Federation,
• Founding Chairman of Super Yacht Base Australia,
• Director of Australian International Marine Export Group.
• General Manager of the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show  for 22 years; and
• Consultant to the Gyeongnam Provincial Government and GnA International in South Korea.

His significant achievements and contribution to the Marine Industry were recognized by the Board by the awarding of a Life Membership to Marine Queensland.

Barry chose to step down to pursue other business opportunities however he continues on the 2010 Board as Immediate Past President.
