  • 26th September 2008 - We say farewell to Terry today. After 5 years with John Crawford Marine and 25 years in the industry Terry has decided to take a step back from full time employment and concentrate spending time at home with his two young boys. We take our hat off to Terry for making the decision to put time into his family to ensure the boys get the best parenting possible. On behlaf of all the staff at John Crawford Marine we wish you all the best and remember you just live around the corner and we know your phone number!

  • 10th September 2008 - Welcome back Eric, after several months off work due to aserious motor bike accident where by Eric collided with a kangaroo he is now back looking after the workshop. Hopefully "Skippy" wont jump out in front again! 

  • 27th August 2008 - The Arvor 20 Ser II model will be offered for sale at the show, great special included as w ehave been given a factory rebate that is to be passed on! After the show the boat will be avaible for demonstrations. Come and have a look at the features that this genuine 6.1m boat has to offer!

  • 27th August 2008 - The Brisbane Boat Show is upon us, remember to come and say hello at our stand 403. JCM will be displaying all of our stock and have handout sheets available for you. Pick our brains about boat values and anything boating related we will do our best to help!

  • 23rd July - The used boat market is starting to respond to some positive news coming from the Media and Financial Institutions that we may see a reduction in interest rates soon.  This week has so far seen several boats being sold based on the positive news. For all our current listings hit the "boats for sale" tag and check out huge range of quality used boats. 

  • 16th July 2008 - John Crawford Marine has sold another Arvor 230AS. This boat has been sold to a keen fisher and boater in Mareeba, far north Queensland. The new owner has been searching for a boat that is capable of heading to the outer wide reefs safely and also must be economical to run. The A230AS was a logical decision as she is powered by a 150Hp Cummins diesel shaft drive engine consuming less fuel than comparable sized outboard powered vessels. The new owner has optioned the rig up with a Furuno FCV585 colour sounder, Lowrance colour GPS, dual cabin fans, Easy Tow Trailer and a full offshore safety gear pack. If you haven't already heard of the Arvor range of boats then I recommend jumping online to our new webpage www.arvor.com.au for more information.

  • 13th July 2008 - Eric, our mechanic suffered a serious motor bike accident today. The accident occured whilst riding his motorbike at highway speed and he collided with a large Grey Kangaroo. Eric was thrown off his bike and skidded some way down the road. Luckily he avoided rails and guide poles and came to a holt in a spoon drain. We believe he survived the accident as God wouldn't have him and he would give the Devil a hard time! A broken wrist and damaged finger is all that Eric suffered. We are all thankful that he is OK. However 6 to 8 weeks off to recover will see the sales staff don on overalls to help out in the workshop! We hope you get well soon Eric!

  • 10th July 2008 - Arvor diesel poweredboats are becoming more popular than ever. A dedicated offshore Arvor 20 Series II Fishing Edition is to be offered for sale by John Crawford Marine at stand 403 at the upcoming Brisbane Boat Show. This boat will have extra fishing and financial appeal for boaters. With fuel prices reaching record levels, the Arvor’s diesel power plant and incredibly low fuel usage will enable boaters an affordable day out with out breaking into the bank. The Australian built, French designed Arvor 20 is well known as an offshore fishing boat with its distinctive enclosed pilothouse, but now with the experienced team at John Crawford Marine they have increased its functionality as an offshore fishing boat. The Arvor 20 uses approximately 10 litres of diesel per hour cruising at 18 knots which is extremely good performance for a 6.1 metre vessel with a displacement of 1330 kg, Standard features remain including the shaft drive, five cylinder Nanni 85hp turbo diesel power plant with hydraulic gearbox, self draining decks, walk around cabin, safety glass windscreens, dual batteries and VHF radio.   • Finally our new uniforms have arrived. In keeping with the all new logo and consistent branding, the uniforms reflect the casual nature of boating with blue pants and fawn shirts. Sorry Terry, no pockets on the shirts again this year! 

  • We welcome Russell Olington to the sales team. Russell has joined John Crawford Marine after 7 years of employment with one of Australias leading boat manufactures and retailer. His enthusiasm for the new role and willingness to learn is inspiring and encouraging. We feel confident that Russell will become a valuable member to the strong and dedicited team at John Crawford Marine. Drop in say hello to Russell, but be careful he might just sell you a boat!

  • July 2008- We have now booked our stand at the upcoming Brisbane International Boat Show held late August at the Brisbane Convention Centre. On display will be the Fishing Edition of the Arvor 20 Series II. Also on display boards will be a our huge range of quality second hand boats. Remember to come and say hello, we may even have a John Crawford Marine shopping bag for you. (subject to availibility)

  • May 2008 - Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show is fast looming. This year we will be launching the deluxe version of the Arvor 250AS. The Arvor 20 Series II Fishing Edition will also be on display. Hope to see you there! 

  • April 2008 - We have just been informed that that a new model will be launched in the Arvor range. The new model will be known as the Arvor 280. At 28 feet long she will be the flagship of the Arvor fleet and will debut at this years upcoming Sydney International Boat Show. For more information go to www.arvor.com.au 

  • March 2008 - Our new tractor has arrived! With much delight to the staff our old 1952 model Massey Fergason tractor has had to be retired. Failing an indepnedant Work Place Health Saftey audit, it was time for a replacement. We decided on a new ISEKI 3 cyl diesel tractor. This is one awesome little machine and moves even the biggest of boats around with ease. If you are in the market for a tractor we highly recommend KC Farm Equipment at Yatala, 30 minutes south of Brisbane. They made the purchase decision process simple and have delivered a tractor that fulfills all the criteria needed to ensure that the staff are using a safe and reliable machine.
